DRC eVisa for Cyprus Citizens

Citizens of the Republic of Cyprus planning to visit the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) can now obtain travel authorisation quickly and securely through the eVisa system. This online process eliminates the need for embassy visits, enabling travellers to submit their information, pay the applicable fee, and receive approval directly by email.

About the Digital Authorisation

Designed for convenience, it allows Cyprus passport holders to secure entry authorisation prior to departure. This visa, issued as an Ordinary Flying Visa, is approved electronically and linked to your passport. It remains valid for 90 days and allows a single 7-day visit.

The eVisa can be used to enter the country through any authorised airport, seaport, or land border

Eligibility and Permitted Purposes

Cypriot nationals holding a valid passport can apply for the eVisa for short-term visits related to, but not limited to:

  • Leisure and Tourism: Visiting national parks, cultural sites, or sightseeing in Kinshasa and beyond.
  • Business Activity: Attending meetings, seminars, etc.
  • Family Visits: Short stays with relatives or close family members living in the DRC.
  • Medical Consultation: Receiving medical check-ups or brief treatments.
  • Transit Passage: Transiting through DRC territory to another destination.

Employment or long-term residence is not permitted under this visa category.

Pre-Application Preparation for Cypriot Travellers

Smart Application Features

Add Applicant

Cypriot travellers can include multiple applicants in a single application session using the add applicant option in the application form. Each added applicant must provide a scanned copy of their passport and other required documents. All updates and notifications are sent to the primary applicant, and separate eVisa are issued to each individual.

Resume Incomplete Application

If an applicant is unable to complete the form in one attempt, the system allows them to resume an unfinished DRC eVisa Application using their temporary order ID. This feature ensures that travellers can continue from where they left off without re-entering previously submitted information.

Arrival and Entry Verification Process

Upon reaching the DRC, Cypriot travellers must follow standard immigration validation procedures:

  • Present Printed eVisa: Present all required documents at the immigration counter.
  • Verification of Details: Officials review your information and travel purpose.
  • Visa d’Entrée (VAP) Stamp: After approval, the VAP is stamped or placed in your passport, confirming your entry and permitted stay.
  • Payment of VAP Fee: The VAP fee is a mandatory border charge payable in local or convertible currency and is separate from the eVisa payment.
