DRC eVisa Guide for the Citizens of Georgia
Travelling from the Caucasus to Central Africa has become significantly easier for holders of a Georgian passport. The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has modernised its entry process by introducing a digital portal. This system allows Georgians to obtain travel authorisation without the need to visit a physical embassy or post office to submit original documents.
Whether you are currently in Tbilisi or Kutaisi or living abroad, this electronic system ensures that your personal data remains protected while simplifying your holiday or business preparations.
Key Details on the Ordinary Flying eVisa
Before you start your application, keep these specific rules in mind:
- Usage Window: Once your visa is granted, you have 90 days to enter the DRC.
- Length of Visit: This specific eVisa allows you to stay for 7 days per entry.
- Purpose of Travel: You can use this for holidays, family visits, or business meetings.
Important Note on Staying Longer: Most visitors find that a single week is not quite enough to explore a country as vast as the DRC. If your itinerary requires more than seven days, you cannot extend your stay through the online portal.
Instead, you must visit a Direction Générale de Migration office in person once you are in a major city such as Kinshasa. There, you can request an extension to your permit.
Important Documents Georgian Citizens Will Need
To apply online, prepare clear digital copies of these three items:
- Georgian Passport: A colour scan of your Biopage. Ensure it does not expire for at least 6 months.
- Passport Photo: A recent digital picture of the applicant that is taken against a plain white background.
- Covering Letter: A brief, typed letter stating why you are visiting and where you will stay.
Note: For business trips, this should be a formal letter from your employer.
Processing Options and Fees
The financial commitment for a DRC eVisa involves 2 distinct payments. First, you pay a digital service fee during the online application process. Second, an entry fee is collected upon your arrival at the DRC airport.
We offer three different processing speeds to suit your departure date:
- Standard Processing: This takes between 11 - 13 Working Days. This is the most cost-effective choice for those who have planned their trip well in advance.
- Rush Processing: Your application will be handled within 8 - 11 Working Days.
- Super Rush Processing: For urgent travel needs, this option delivers your visa in just 5 - 8 Working Days.
