DRC eVisa Overview for the Citizens of Grenada

If you are living in Grenada and planning a journey to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), you no longer need to visit an embassy in person. The DRC has introduced a digital system that allows Grenadian citizens to obtain a travel permit entirely online. Whether you are based in St. George’s, Gouyave, or Carriacou, the application process is streamlined for your convenience.

Explaining the "Ordinary Flying eVisa" for Grenadian Citizens

Before you finalise your flight from the Caribbean to Central Africa, it is vital to understand the specific rules associated with this digital permit. The DRC government maintains strict guidelines for this short-term visa.

  • Validity Period: You must enter the DRC within 90 days of the visa being issued.
  • Duration of Stay: This permit allows you to remain in the country for up to 7 days.
  • Permitted Activities: Tourism, family visits, or professional business meetings.

Important Note:7 days is a very short time to explore a country as large as the DRC. If you find you need more time once you arrive, you cannot renew the visa online. You must visit the Direction Générale de Migration (DGM) office in a major city, such as Kinshasa, to request a formal extension of your stay.

Paperwork Checklist for Grenadians

To prevent your application from being delayed or turned down, you must upload high-quality digital files. Ensure all scans are bright and easy to read.

  • Valid Grenadian Passport: You need a colour scan of your passport’s main data page. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you plan to land.
  • Recent Photo: A digital, passport-style photograph. It must have a plain white background. Your full face must be visible without hats, headscarves (unless for religious reasons), or tinted glasses.
  • Letter of Intent: A typed letter explaining the reason for your visit. You must list where you will be staying, such as a hotel name or a friend’s home address.
  • Business Documents: If you are travelling for work, your letter should be printed on your employer's official letterhead.

Costs and Processing Times

The total price for your entry into the DRC is split into 2 parts. You will pay an initial service fee online to have your application handled. Later, upon arrival at the airport in the DRC, you will be required to pay a separate entry fee in person.

We provide 3 different processing speeds for Grenadian applicants:

  1. Standard Service: Best for those who have planned well in advance. It takes 11 - 13 Working Days.
  2. Rush Service: A faster option if your departure date is approaching. It takes 8 - 11 Working Days.
  3. Super Rush Service: Our quickest option for urgent travel or last-minute business. Your visa is ready in 5 - 8 Working Days.
