DRC eVisa Guide for the Travellers of Namibia
For Namibian Applicants looking to cross the border into the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the days of complicated paperwork and embassy visits are over. A modern digital system now handles your travel authorisations.
Whether you are situated in Windhoek, Swakopmund, or the Zambezi Region, you can now secure your entry permit through a straightforward online portal.
Navigating the Ordinary Flying eVisa Rules
This digital permit is specifically designed for those entering the country via air. Because the system is automated, it operates on very strict timelines that every Namibian traveller must follow to ensure a smooth arrival.
The Arrival Window
Once your digital application is approved, you are granted a 90-day window to enter the DRC. It is vital to plan your departure from Namibia within these 3 months. If you arrive even one day late, the document will no longer be valid, and you will be required to apply and pay for a new one.
Length of Your Visit
The Flying eVisa is intended for short-term stays only. It permits you to remain in the country for up to 7 days. This timeframe is ideally suited for:
- Short holiday breaks or sightseeing.
- Attending family events or visiting relatives.
- Participating in professional workshops, seminars, or corporate meetings.
Required Paperwork for Namibian Applicants
To prevent your application from being flagged or delayed, you must provide high-quality digital uploads. Blurry photos or unreadable text are the leading causes of rejection.
- Passport Scan: Provide a clear, colour image of your Namibian passport’s information page. Ensure your passport does not expire for at least 6 months after your intended arrival date.
- Photo Requirements: You need a recent, digital, passport-style photo. It must have a plain white background. Your face should be neutral and evident; please remove hats or tinted eyewear.
- Personal Cover Letter: This is a simple note you wrote. It should state the purpose of your trip, the dates you intend to stay, and the name of the hotel or person you will be staying with.
- Professional Documentation: If you are travelling for work, you must include a letter from your Namibian employer or the host company in the country. This must be on a formal letterhead and explain your business activities.
Costs and Expected Wait Times
The total investment for your entry consists of 2 separate parts: an online service fee (paid at the time of application) and an airport entry fee (paid upon your arrival in the DRC).
To accommodate different schedules, we offer 3 tiers of processing:
The Simple 4-Step Application Path
We have refined the process into four easy stages to help you avoid common mistakes.
- The Digital Form: Input your name, passport number, and travel dates exactly as they appear on your documents and ensure the spellings for your personal information are correct.
- Family and Group Entries : If you are travelling with a group of fellow Namibians, you don’t need to do separate applications. You can add everyone to the same form, making it much easier to manage your documents and payments in one place.
- Secure Online Payment: Complete your transaction using a credit or debit card. Our platform uses advanced encryption to ensure that your financial data and personal identity remain completely protected.
- The Final Printout: Once the Congolese government approves your stay, your visa will arrive via email. You must print a physical copy. While keeping a PDF on your phone is a great backup, border officials in the country will require a paper copy to be stamped.
