DRC eVisa Guide for the Citizens of Nepal
Planning a trip from Nepal to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has become much easier. You can now manage your travel authorisation entirely online, skipping the need for embassy visits in Kathmandu.
The Flying eVisa: Key Details
This electronic permit is explicitly meant for visitors entering the DRC via international airports. Before you book your flight, keep these 3 rules in mind:
Validity: You must land in the DRC within 90 days of your
permit being granted
Duration: This specific visa allows for a stay of
up to 7
days.
Longer Trips: You cannot renew this permit online. If
your visit needs to
last more than a week, you must register with the local migration office (Direction
Générale de Migration).
What Documents Do Nepalese Citizens Need?
To avoid delays, ensure your digital scans are crisp and easy to read. You will need:
- Passport Copy: A colour scan of your Nepalese passport. It must have at least half a year’s worth of validity remaining from your date of arrival.
- Passport Photo: A recent digital image with a plain white background.
- Personal Letter: A short note detailing your reason for visiting, where you plan to sleep, and your flight dates.
- Company Letter: Only required for business travellers. This should be a document from your employer or a Congolese host to be presented to the local DGM office.
Processing Times and Fees
The total price usually consists of 2 parts: a digital service fee paid during your application and an entry fee paid upon arrival at the DRC airport. Depending on your schedule, you can pick from 3 speeds:
